Scholarship Opportunities

A unified application form is available online at no cost to parents. This single application enables a family to apply for all umbrella scholarships for which their child is eligible. These umbrella scholarships include those funded by the Catholic Education Office, the Today & Tomorrow Educational Foundation, and the Roman Catholic Foundation of Eastern Missouri. The scholarships awarded will total approximately $12 million and include the funds below.

Alive in Christ! Scholarships For students of income-eligible families at any archdiocesan parish elementary school. Students of new families and existing families are eligible in grades K-8. Scholarship is renewable through grade 8. FIRST COME – FIRST SERVE! Yes
Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow For students of income-eligible residents of the City of St. Louis to enroll at any private or parochial elementary school in the City of St. Louis in grades K-8. Scholarship is renewable through grade 8. Yes
Catholic Family Tuition Assistance For students of income-eligible, registered Catholic families to attend grades K- 12 at any archdiocesan or parish school Yes
Parish Employees Endowment Fund For students of parish employees working 1,000 hours or more per year to attend grades K-12 at any archdiocesan or parish school. Yes
Department of Special Education Scholarships For income-eligible students with special learning needs to attend grades K-12 at archdiocesan special education schools, learning centers and programs. Yes
Beyond Sunday Scholarships For students of middle-income families to attend grades K-8 at any Catholic elementary school (archdiocesan, parish, or private). Preference given to Catholic families. Scholarship is renewable through grade 8. Application period is open February 1 – February 28, 2018. Yes
SOAR! Scholarship For students of income-eligible families who wish to attend grade 9-12 at Trinity Catholic High School, St. Mary’s High School, and Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School. Scholarship is renewable through grade 12 Yes
Jones Scholarship For students of income-eligible families who wish to attend K-8 at Most Holy Trinity, St. Cecilia, St. Louis Catholic Academy, or St. Louis the King Elementary Schools. Scholarship is renewable through grade 8.  Yes

 

Application Documents

Documents needed to complete applications include:

  • Proof of Residency (St. Louis City Resident Only)
  • Proof of income (Pages 1 & 2 of your most recent Federal 1040 Income Tax Return. If you do not have a Federal Income Tax Return, your most recent W-2 will suffice)
  • Proof of any supplemental income your family may receive at this time – you do not need to include those that are already reported on your 1040. Examples include – food stamps, social security, Missouri Temporary Assistance (TANF), disability benefits, unemployment benefits, child support, public assistance cash.

Documentation for the above listed include an award letter or statement indicating the amount(s) the family is currently receiving.

If you do not have any income at this time, please provide a notarized letter explaining your situation. The school that you wish for your child(ren) to attend can also supply a letter on your behalf.

Only the NEW online application will be accepted – once you apply, you will be considered for all scholarships listed above that are applicable to your family based upon residency and income parameters.
