Math and Science Program 6 - 8 Grades
Every classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies in abilities and learning styles. The role of a teacher is to give children the tools that will cultivate their own knowledge. To accomplish this goal, we teach to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel successful. We present curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning fun and relevant to life. We incorporate projects, group work, individual work, and hands-on learning experiences to make children active learners. Finally, we tie learning into the community to help children become caring and active members of society.
St. Raphael the Archangel believes that every day is a new day and teaching is a lifelong learning process. Every day we learn about new philosophies and new strategies. This learning comes from parents, community, colleagues and especially from children. Children can teach us to open our minds and hearts to the joys and the diversity of world. Because of this, we will never forget how to smile and laugh with the children.
